 Youth and Peace Foundation Trains 15 Young People in Uvira in Plumbing
The organization Youth and Peace Foundation (YUPF) wrapped up, this Friday, August 28, 2026, a professional plumbing training session for young people in the city of Uvira, as part of its project to provide professional skills and reduce youth poverty.
In total, 15 young people from Uvira took part in this two-month training, which focused especially on drinking water pipe installations, sanitary water drainage systems, and sanitary installations in various construction projects.
After a first phase devoted to theoretical lessons, the participants took part this Friday in a practical session, marking the end of this first training session.

"Today, Friday, August 28, 2026, we organized a hands-on activity with the 15 young people who took part in the plumbing training. This two-month training is part of our professional qualification and youth poverty reduction project in the city of Uvira. We started with theory, and today, the training ended with a practical session," explained Sada Liliane, coordinator of the Youth and Peace Foundation.
According to her, the organization had raised awareness among more than 300 young people before the training started. However, only 15 young people responded to the call and took part in this first session.

“This training is just the first step. We’ll move on to a second step starting in October, aimed at other young people. So, we invite all young people in Uvira who want to attend this training to come sign up at our office located in the Mulongwe district, on Haut-Congo Avenue, in the Ndingari gallery,” she added. Sada Liliane notes that registration and the training are completely free for interested young people.

“The message we’re sending to the youth of Uvira is that this training is organized for them. We encourage them to take this opportunity to gain professional skills that could help them become independent and improve their living conditions,” she concluded. Through this initiative, the Youth and Peace Foundation aims to help strengthen the professional skills of Uvira's youth, support their economic empowerment, and reduce poverty through learning practical trades.

PROGRAM FOR SUPPORT ORPHANED ASSISTANCE

The organization @YOUTH AND PEACE FOUNDATION  in collaboration with @MAIN DANS LA MAIN POUR AIDE SOCIAL , had the privilege of visiting an orphanage called @Daawat Nur.
During this visit, our objective was to meet the children, understand their living conditions, and identify the challenges they face on a daily basis.
We found a total of 141 children, both boys and girls, aged 1 to 18 years.
According to our means, we provided support by bringing food and clothing, to help meet their basic needs. We also spent quality time with them through games and activities to reduce stress and bring them joy.
We call upon other organizations  not to miss the opportunity to visit these children and support them in any way possible.
